Between 4-11 September 2019, the Hungarian National Film Fund is organizing the 3rd Budapest Classics Film Marathon, the prominent international film festival of the Hungarian capital. Over the eight days of the showcase, audiences can watch around 100 classic movies in Uránia National Film Theatre, Toldi Cinema, L’Institut français de Budapest, Puskin Cinema and outside, on the square in front of the Basilica.

The 2019 fest focuses on restored Hungarian and European films, plus the near 125-year-old shared history of film and music. Budapest welcomes Pierre Richard, Michael Nyman, Udo Kier, Johanna ter Steege and Magda Vášáryová. For three days, there is a fascinating professional programme in L’Institut français arranged by Hungarian and international experts; topics include film and audio restoration, preserving and digitalizing the film heritage, and opportunities to present classic movies worldwide.

Everyone is welcome to attend – TUNED TO FILM!
