Hungarian Talkies at 90
This year, Hungarian film celebrates several anniversaries. As well as the 120th birthday, 2021 also marks the 90th anniversary of the birth of domestic sound film: A kék bálvány (The Blue Idol) and Hyppolit, a lakáj (Hyppolit, the Butler) both debuted in 1931. We evoke the era of soundtrack film with Esős vasárnap (A Rainy Sunday), which we can watch in the company of some of its original cast and crew.
