HUNGARIAN EYE

The Hungarian school of cinematography looks back on great traditions. Over past decades, artists blessed with remarkable creativity have made their name not only here at home but abroad, too. The Hungarian Eye section presents several of their works. Films include world-famous classics and forgotten masterpieces. What is common to them all is that Hungarian artists behind the camera created them primarily abroad with enormous invention, to a high standard and with maximum consideration of the demands of the subject and the genre. This year we see the world through the eyes of István Hildebrand, Lajos Koltai, László Kovács, Maté Rudolph and Vilmos Zsigmond, but we can also sit in on documentaries showing the work of cinematographers.
