István ‘Hilda’ Hildebrand, one of the most multifaceted cinematographers in Hungarian film, has left his impression in spectacular super-productions. He approached each of his projects from the angle of what the visuals, the experience of the big screen could add to the story. From his oeuvre, the festival features Az aranyfej (The Golden Head) made using a 70 mm Cinerama technique and Katonazene (Military Band) about the hussars. The full restoration of Katonazene was arranged with input from the cinematographer himself in 2020.
