Guests of this year’s Budapest Classics Film Marathon are Michael Nyman, world-renowned film composer (he wrote the scores for the triple Oscar winning film The Piano and has been co-creator on several cult movies by Peter Greenaway), Pierre Richard, star of French comedies Knock on Wood, Je suis timide mais je me soigne and The Tall Blond Man with One Black Shoe, Udo Kier, world-famous German-born American actor and hero of Gábor Bódy’s Narcissus and Psyche (Psyché I-III.), as well as actress Magda Vášáryová, who stole the hearts of Hungarians as the glamorous blonde in Jiří Menzel’s Shortcuts. Johanna ter Steege took one of the lead parts in István Szabó’s film Sweet Emma, Dear Böbe (Édes Emma, drága Böbe), which won a Silver Bear in Berlin and a European Film Award. She will attend the screening of this movie, which has been recently restored by the Hungarian National Film Fund – Film Archive and Filmlabor.
