Founded in 1976 with the support of Henri Langlois, the Cinematheque of Nice organizes projections and preserving of cinematographic heritage. Institution managed by the City of Nice, the Cinematheque of Nice programs 350 to 400 films per year, through cycles and retrospectives, recent restorations screenings, catch-up sessions for contemporary films, and also a youth programming. It regularly organizes meetings with directors or professionals of cinema, master classes and previews, and also offers an animation film workshop for young audience. Its collections include more than 8,800 inventoried movies and nearly 80,000 documents.
The Cinematheque of Nice is a member of FIAF (International Federation of Film Archives), of FACFF (Federation of Cinematheques and Film Archives of France) and of the Cinematheque of Documentary.

Guillaume Poulet
Since November 2017, Guillaume Poulet is the Director of the Cinema of the City of Nice, ensuring the direction of the Cinematheque of Nice and the management of the Film Shooting Office of the city. Founder of an Art House Cinema in Calais in 2004 (the Alhambra), he was director of the Cinematheque of Grenoble and of the Open Air Short Film Festival of Grenoble from 2009 to 2016.
