Rock’s just not working these days. A member of the Colorádó band is beaten up because they are playing ‘crap music’. Egon Póka, the so-called ‘manager’, decides to integrate into their music some of those elements that young Kőbánya district workers like. They find themselves a raw sounding singer: the king of Kőbánya ghetto dives. This proves to be a real hit, but at their sell-out concert on Gellért Hill the band members start fighting and kick the manager out because there was no TV broadcast. Through this musical film satire, György Szomjas launched the series which raised the sociological and popular mapping of subcultures of the suburbs into the ranks of Hungarian film. Members of the film-version ‘Kőbánya Blues Band’ are musicians of P. Mobil and Hobó Blues Band, László Földes, Lóránt Schuster, Egon Póka and Bill Gyula Deák.
