This is not the best film of all time, nor the most entertaining. Nor is it even Robert Zemeckis best film, since that title arguably goes to Forrest Gump. But for an entire generation, this film was a defining moment. Because of this, not only does it have cult value, not only does it provide an endless source for memes and quotes, but it also portray a general feeling of the times. For every moment of this film conveys the feeling of a free, rich and carefree time when nuclear war was no longer a threat, people were tired of westerns and gangster movies, and all film viewers were glad to take a trip back to the golden era of the fifties.
