The Gypsy girl Carmen is the kidnapped child of an aristocratic family. When she matures into a beautiful woman, she rejects the Gypsy boy who everyone supposed would be her fiancé. Destiny strikes, however, when she sets off for the wedding with her lover, who turns out to be her own brother.
