Event:
The ailing Ferenc Kossuth, president of the Party of Independence and ’48, was moved to the sanatorium on the evening of 4 November in a critical condition. Here, he was examined by Dr. Herczel, a consultation was held and the leading politicians of the party, Mihály Károlyi and Albert Apponyi, as well as Mrs. Benyovszky Sándorné (later his bride, then wife) and mayor István Bárczy, paid him a visit. Over the following few days other politicians also visited and a few days later his brother, Lajos Tivadar Kossuth, arrived from Milan, where he rushed directly to his brother’s bedside.

Kino-Riport footage:

“The rapidly running pictures conclude with shots made of the ailing Ferenc Kossuth, the most valuable part of which is the few metres of film in which Lajos Tódor Kossuth, the younger brother of the stateman, can be seen as he leaves the sanatorium.”
