Cannes Classics is the section of the Festival de Cannes dedicated to restored classics, documentaries about cinema, tributes and masterclasses. It has been existing since 2004 and was created by General Manager Thierry Frémaux. The MIFC, the International Classic Film Market, is the only world market dedicated to film classics organized by the Institut Lumière in Lyon, France, and been taking place during the festival Lumière since 2013.

Gérald Duchaussoy
Gérald Duchaussoy has been in charge of the Cannes Classics section at the Festival de Cannes (restored prints and documentaries about cinema) since 2014 and Project Manager at the International Classic Film Market of the festival Lumière since 2013. In a previous life he was deputy head of the press office at the Festival de Cannes and a publicist at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF).
