Beautifully restored silent films with live music accompaniment, one of the most touching masterpieces of the neorealism, two Czechoslovakian and Jugoslavian evergreens, historical portraits and biopics: here are many films to rediscover. Sándor Korda's, so Sir Alexander Korda's Man of Gold, made in 1918, is as stunning as a new film, De Sica's Bicycle Thieves is still staggering, The Firemen's Ball is an eternal parabola, I Even Met Happy Gypsies won the Grand Prix in Cannes not by accident, Endre Tóth, aka André de Toth directed a fine portrait of Ignác Semmelweis, born 200 years ago. Some of the films are introduced by directors and experts of partner Archives; they speak not only about the films, but about the restoration process as well.
