How does the Madam, for the sake of Mama, manage to transform the whorehouse into a refined ladies college, where in this game her ‘chicks’ can have their longed-for world. - Károly Makk speaks about the brilliant acting, the censor and the back stage secrets in the director’s commentary. Similarly to Szerelem (Love) and Macskajáték (Catsplay), the world of turn-of-the-century Art Nouveau is evoked in this fairy tale-like satirical film based on the novella A vöröslámpás ház (House with the Red Light) by Sándor Hunyady. Kelepei, the disreputable student, billets himself in a brothel and quickly becomes the girls’ favourite. Unexpectedly, his elderly mother travels up from the countryside to pay a visit and the girls make every effort to keep up appearances.
