(Pesti Hírlap, 12 February 1914.)

Background to film report:

Date:
Before 12 February 1914

Location:
Zoo, Budapest

Event:
With the onset of winter, the zoo opened its doors to winter sports. The sledging course built from planks and beams and heading towards the lake quickly became popular with children, while the two skating rinks (one for adults on the tennis courts, the other for children in the playground) soon found favour with all Budapesters. Thanks to this superb initiative, for the second year those people can give themselves over to the pleasures of winter entertainment who otherwise could not afford to travel further afield for the sake of a winter vacation. The zoo attracts as many visitors in the winter as in the summer.

Cameraman:
Shots taken by Lajos Szőnyi for Az Érdekes Ujság paper for an article titled ‘The zoo in winter’, thus it is conceivable that he also made the motion pictures for the film report since he was one of Kino-Riport’s regular cameramen.
